Coach Brian Chorney

Brian rowed 5 years at Case Western Reserve University, holding team lightweight erg records and spending four years as captain.  After moving to the Boston area, he competed for Community Rowing Inc., Gentle Giant Rowing Club, and The Little Harbor Boat Club.  Brian served as the head coach at Endicott College in Beverly, MA from 2008 to 2012, leading the Gulls to two New England Collegiate Rowing League Championships. After two years away from the sport, Brian joined the EGR Crew staff in January 2015.

Coach Agustin Parraguez Huisman

Agustin rowed for East Grand Rapids Crew for 4 years.  He focused on sweep rowing and attended the Midwest Championship regatta in the varsity boat both junior and senior year. He currently attends Calvin College where he hopes to start a rowing team.  This is his second year coaching.

Coach Chris Anderson

Chris will join the faculty at EGR Middle School this year. He has rowed for 3 years at Michigan State University. We are really looking forward to leveraging Coach Anderson’s love of rowing technique and classroom tricks-of-the-trade across EGR Crew.

Coach Connor Jenkins

Coach Jenkins graduated from EGR in 2017. He rowed at Michigan Tech as a freshman.  Being back in the area, Connor is really excited to contribute to the crew he rowed for just a couple seasons ago!
